MISS INDIA - REITA FARIA

"MISS WORLD - 1966"

Dr. Reita Faria Powel (born Bombay date unknown) became the first Indian woman to win the Miss World title, in 1966. After winning the Miss Bombay crown earlier that year, she won the Eve's Weekly Miss India contest. She was the first Indian to win Miss World.After her one year tenure, she refused modeling and films and instead concentrated on medical studies. She lives in Dublin, Ireland with her husband David Powell, and has two children and five grandchildren. Reita was a judge at Femina Miss India 1998, and has come back to judge the Miss World competition on a few occasions.

After a gap of 28 yrs................. it was an gloden year for India two girls had made india happy and proud again here comes the frist girl to win this title ever for India.

MISS INDIA - SUSHMITHA SEN

" MISS UNIVERSE-1994"

Sushmita was born in a Bengali family to Shubeer Sen, a former Indian Air Force Wing Commander and Subhra Sen who worked as a fashion artist and jewellry designer. She has a brother, Rajeev Sen and a sister, Neelam Sen. She was born St.Theresa's hospital, Hyderabad, and grew up in New Delhi. She attended school at Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute studying English, and had career plans in journalism.In 1994, at the age of eighteen, Sushmita won the title of Femina Miss India beating out Aishwarya Rai who was the runner up. Sen represented India at the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant, held in Philippines and won. After her reign as Miss Universe was over, Sushmita became an actress .After her reign as Miss Universe was over, Sushmita became an actressAfter her reign as Miss Universe was over, Sushmita became an actress. MISS INDIA (1st runner up) - AISHWARYA RAI

Rai was born in Mangalore to Krishnaraj Rai and Vrinda Rai. She has one elder brother, Aditya Rai, who is an engineer in the merchant navy. At an early age her parents moved to Mumbai. She did well in school and planned to become an architect and went on pursuing studies in architecture. She can communicate in several languages, including her mother tongue Tulu as well as Hindi, English, Marathi and Tamil. While pursuing her studies in architecture, Rai began modelling on the side. In the 1994 Miss Indiacontest, she won the second place behind Sushmita Sen. She went on to win the Miss World title the same year, where she also won the Miss Photogenic award. She abandoned her academic education after winning the pageant and spent one year reigning as Miss World in London. Rai then started working as a professional model and then moved on to her current profession as an actress. She is married to Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan who is three years her junior. She has been the face of numerous number of magazines all over the world. She was given various titles by various organizations as the most beautiful women on the planet.

Rai has been the most popular face of Indian cinema globally. In 2004 she was chosen by Time magazine as one of the World's "100 Most Influential People",and appeared on the cover of Time magazine, Asia Edition in 2003 She was the subject of a 60 Minutes profile on 2 January 2005, which said that "at least according to thousands of Web sites, Internet polls and even Julia Roberts", she was "The World's Most Beautiful Woman".In October 2004 a wax figure of Rai was put on display in London's Madame Tussaud'swax museum. She was the 6th Indian and the second Bollywood personality after her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan to get this honour.In 2005 she became a global brand ambassador of L'Oreal longside Andie Macdowell, Eva Longoriaand Penelope Cruz . The same year, a special Tulip in the Netherlands was named "Aishwarya Rai" after her. MISS INDIA- DIANA HAYDEN


" MISS WORLD -1997 "

Diana Hayden was born in Hyderabad, India in a Anglo-Indian family. As a teenager, she was a tomboy, tall and gangly. She continued her studies through open schooling and correspondence and graduated from Osmania University in English.Before modeling, she used to work for an Event management company called Encore. She then worked as a Public relations officer at BMG Crescendo where she managed careers for models Anaida and Mehnaz. After Anaida's recommendation, she filled in for the Miss India contest. After winning Miss India she proceeded to win the coveted Miss World title. After trying hard and failing to make a mark in Bollywood, Hayden moved to Los Angeles and devoted herself to social causes.In 2006, Diana was signed by the Avalon Academy as the face of the Academy and currently serves as a celebrity guest lecturer for airline personnel training programs.

So India was made proud again after 2 yrs of gap ... and it was..........

MISS INDIA - YUKTA MUKI

" MISS WORLD - 1999"

Mookhey's family is from northern India, but she and her family lived in the Middle East until Mookhey was seven years of age. The Mookhey family migrated back to Mumbai in June 1986. Mookhey's mother Aruna runs a personal and professional grooming consulting firm in Mumbai, while her father was a clothing company director and currently trades in stocks as a hobby. Mookhey studied zoology at Kelkar college prior to winning the Miss World competition. Mookhey has a diploma in computer sciences and has studied Hindustani classical music Mookhey is an active member of the BJP apart from always lending her time for social and charitable causes.
Yukta and Prince Tuli were engaged on September 7, 2008 at the Grand Maratha in Mumbai.Tuli is the son of Bacchitar Singh Tuli and Harinder Kaur Tuli. His family owns a business empire in central India that runs into Logistics, Hotels, Malls, Education, and Construction Equipment. The marriage held on November 2, 2008 was a traditional 'Sikh' ceremony in a Nagpur Gurudwara followed by a reception the same evening.

So India was not disappointed the next year too it was another golden year for india after 1994 again india banned the two titles togeather here they are...................!

MISS INDIA - PRIYANKA CHOPRA

"MISS WORLD - 2000"

She was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkand to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Akhauri, both doctors by profession.Chopra spent her childhood in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh; Newton, Massachusetts; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her father was in the army and thus her family moved quite frequently. Her father hailed from a family of Punjabi Khatri origin, settled in Bareilly and her mother comes from a Malayali family settled in Jamshedpur. She also has a brother, Siddharth, who is seven years younger than she. She has then started working in films now and then now she is the most successful actress in Indian cinema.

She is the last girl to win the MISS WORLD title for india so who is next.................!

Lara was born the youngest of three children to Wg. Cdr. L.K. Dutta (retired) and Jennifer Dutta in Ghaziabad, India on April 16,1978. In 1981, her family moved to Bangalore, India where she attended high school. she has little interest in becoming a big star, instead her aspirations lie behind the camera. Her ambition is to become a top documentary filmmaker. Lara currently resides in New York where she campaigns for awareness of HIV and drug addiction as part of her commitment to charitable work as Miss Universe.

She was the last girl upto now to win MISS UNIVERSE title for india so who is the next who is going to make india proud again.........................................!
